FAQ

What is The Fantasy Tavern?

You’ll arrive at a party full of costumed nerds and grab a cold drink. You can hang with the folks you came with, chat with other adventurers, and meet our performers’ characters to complete quests.

Over the course of the party, there are three staged performances featuring audience interaction games, guest stars, and comic songs about D&D or the month’s theme.

What should I wear?

From ren faire garb to cosplay, cottagecore to gothic masquerade, we’ve seen all styles at the tavern. And of course, you’re encouraged to dress to each month’s theme. You’re also welcome to come dressed as your fabulous self!

Can I come in character?

Oh, for sure! Many adventurers arrive in character, or even as their whole D&D party.

Can I bring my own quest/activity?

Probably! We’ve had a mystic give tarot readings, a witch who gave rewards for solving riddles, and a pirate captain who gambled with liar’s dice. We’re generally supportive of independent quests - we’d only ask you to let people know you’re “just a guest like them”.

What’s your policy on costume weapons?

Foam, boffer, and cosplay blades are all welcome. Steel is ok, so long as it remains sheathed.

Is every show the same?

Nope! Each month features a fresh theme with new songs, quests, and characters to meet.

What is your bag policy?

You can bring bags, backpacks and purses into the venue. You cannot bring in outside food or drink.

What is your refund policy?

We grant full refunds up to 48 hours before each event, no questions asked.

Can I have fun without drinking?

Definitely! The party, show, games, and festive atmosphere can all be appreciated without the aid of ale. We also have a great selection of non-alcoholic drink options.

Do I have to be 21 to attend?

Yes. Our venues are 21+. You can however, invite us to your college for a dry event.
